What’s in a cup of tea? Rooibos tea I am talking about at the moment. I came across Rooibos about 24 years ago when pregnant with my 3rd baby. I had read about it in a natural health magazine and heard how many African women drank it in pregnancy, as well as nursing mothers who passed on the health benefits via their breastmilk, to keep their babies nice and relaxed. Rooibos has lots of nutrients in it. I even subscribed to the Rooibos magazine and bought other Rooibos products like soap!
If you have never tasted Rooibos, I would say that it tastes like a nutty sort of flavour. You can drink it with or without milk, although I prefer it without milk.
When I first started drinking Rooibos, all those years ago, I also picked up a humane tip on discouraging garden slugs from coming near to your home……and the tip was to sprinkle Rooibos tea leaves on the ground. One night I tried this and I kid you not….the slug almost immediately started to reverse away!! Really it did! Apparently, Rooibos contains copper and I was told, that slugs don’t like copper! Well there you go! I also put Rooibos tea in a spray bottle with other natural ingredients to deter midges too.
