Birth Trauma Support
The negative or traumatic feelings may arise when considering whether or not to become pregnant again or during a subsequent pregnancy. This may contribute to a pathological fear of giving birth for some mothers, known as secondary tokophobia. Many suffer “flashbacks” about the event which may affect daily activities and other relationships. Often partners are also affected negatively by the woman’s experience or what they witnessed.
I can work with you by using the 3 Step Rewind Technique. This technique aims to neutralise the negative memory or feelings which are triggered about the event when the persons thinks about it. When we understand how the conscious and subconscious mind works (which I can explain to you during session 1) and how we are triggered emotionally, at just the “thought” of the past experience, it makes a lot of sense to change the mindset, for the better.
The 3 Step Rewind Technique involves some relaxation during each session and you do not even need to tell me details of the event or trauma, if you prefer not to disclose it. The only requirement is that you can remember the event.
Of course, we can never go back and change what happened, but we may be able to move forward, to allow you to feel differently about the experience, so that those negative or traumatic feelings are not affecting people in the same way.
The 3 Step Rewind involves booking 3 separate sessions with me, (of about 4.5 hours in total), usually a week apart, either in person or by Skype or Zoom depending on geographical distance or client preferences. Book an appointment with me in confidence via my Contact Form.
