“Hi Janet, I know Rik sent you a quick text to say thank you, but please feel free to use the following on your website or wherever – we really appreciate everything you’ve done for us, it’s quite hard to put it into words!
We just wanted to say thank you for sharing hypnobirthing with us. The birth of our baby wasn’t as straightforward as we may have originally hoped, but thanks to all of the tools and techniques you taught us this didn’t matter too much.
My waters broke on the Saturday evening, and when labour still hadn’t started 24 hours later we decided with our midwives that the best thing would be to start induction on the Monday morning. They started the process at 7.00am and we were originally advised that due to the lack of progress we could be there for a few days.
Luckily we didn’t have to wait that long and our baby was with us by 4.20pm that afternoon, with the help of the relaxation practices, gas and air, and our two fantastic midwives (who said that they thought the reason we had done so well was thanks to my ‘low risk attitude’).
Rik and I both feel that had we not done your course things could have been very different, so thank you for your knowledge, patience and understanding, but most of all thank you for giving us the confidence that this could be an amazing experience – because it really was.
Thanks again Janet for everything, you’ve been great.
Best wishes, Rachel and Rik and baby H xxx”
Janet’s comments : Hypnobirthing is all about equipping you to deal with whatever comes along, as sometimes labour and birth take an unexpected turn, where decisions need to be made calmly and confidently, so remaining relaxed is important for mother and baby.
