First baby born in hospital – clients prefer to remain anonymous

HYPNOBIRTHING IS FOR ALL BIRTHS ✅ Should there be an unexpected turn of events or a deviation to the original preferred pathway, this is when Hypnobirthing can be so invaluable, to allow you to adapt, but also to remain as calm and as confident as you can be when dealing with the changes.
Here is a fine example of this, read on…to see what an absolute WARRIOR my client was!! 💜

“Hi Janet.

Thank you so much for all of your help with the course and the extra advice around it. We welcomed our 10lb 14oz baby boy into the world. Although we didn’t get the home birth that we had planned, we felt empowered to make informed decisions, to get the environment we wanted, decline interventions that we knew we didn’t want and to fully understand all of our options.

The full story is that we started with surges around 4pm on Saturday, things seemed to progress well with the early latent phase and then drop off at times, I walked the dog and tried to be mobile around the house, making nice nest spaces to relax in etc as I was struggling with back pain.

By Tuesday night we thought we were in active labour. However there was no home birth midwives available so we took a bath and some paracetamol to slow things down until the day shift.
The next night (Wednesday) things ramped up and everyone was convinced I was in active labour, the home birth team came around 10pm and I was in the birthing pool from 11, however after 8hours of pushing and strong surges we consented to a VE and found that I was only 2cm. I was struggling with back pain as baby was back to back and exhausted after 4 days of surges with little sleep.

We decided to come to the hospital on Wednesday morning for some diamorphine so we could get some rest and try again. Thursday morning we naturally got active labour, and when I consented to a VE we were found to be 8cm.

This is when your training really came in handy. We were rushed around and medicalised and put on all sorts of monitors with doctors and midwives lots of people in a bright room. We felt empowered to decline the interventions we didn’t want, and managed to get a birth space where we could progress.

Unfortunately we got to 9.5cm and could get no further, baby’s head was just not in a good position and was struggling to descend, we gave it our all but eventually I was too exhausted and we consented to a c section and our very large baby arrived safely.

I wanted to share our story as although it isn’t the picture perfect home birth, your course helped us to know our options, trust my body and our baby and welcome our little one safely.
The meditations did wonders in getting our environment back on track and getting the oxytocin flowing.

I’m happy for you to use any parts of this for your website/social media without out names being used.

Thanks again for all of your help, and I will/have been recommending your course to all of my pregnant friends!”
