Faye and Keiran – First baby born in hospital (quick birth!)

Dec 19, 2016

Hypnobirthing in “special circumstances” :First baby born, 5lb 10oz born, in 2hours 50mins!!!!

Induction was advised due to a genuine medical condition, but told it wasn’t working and there were concerns for baby.

Was told I was 2cm dilated and if they couldn’t break my waters would be C section for his health. Broke my waters and his heart rate settled.

For an hour I kept with the Hypnobirthing breathing and “K” was using the Hypnobirthing stroking techniques, but I said couldn’t believe how intense it was and thought I couldn’t cope if it was going to be 18hours etc and might need pain relief.

Got told I wasn’t even in established labour yet so don’t think I could have anything.

I asked if they moved machines etc could I change positions instead of lying flat on my back to see if it helped the pain. His heart rate dropped when I changed positions so had to lie back down and midwife said “are you pushing?” She asked if she could examine me and said “oh my word the head is there!” No wonder I was finding it uncomfortable!!! Such a quick labour and progressing very fast !

Less than 30 minutes later he was born. ? I had a forceps delivery to make sure he got out quick because of heart rate but still coped with that through breathing.

Thanks for the help you have given us, even though its not gone to “plan”, I was still confident the whole time. I still actually feel good about it all and surprisingly if anything the breathing techniques really helped.xx
