Elisabeth and Jonathon, first baby, born in hospital

Jul 21, 2017

Hi Janet, I’ve been meaning to get in touch! Our baby girl was born weighing 8lb 2oz in hospital, hypnobirthing worked so well for me as I didn’t have any painkillers!

My waters popped in bed at 6am, I wasn’t dilated at all when I arrived at hospital at 7am, I got into the zone in one of those big chairs and I was fully dilated by 12pm. I needed a drip due to ketones and my blood pressure was through the roof, so I did two hours of active pushing , her heartbeat was dropping with each contraction so forceps were used in the end, she was born at 15:16!

The midwife and doctor listened to us and talked through our options which was great! I can honestly say that the only times it hurt was when I first arrived at the hospital and when the forceps were used!

I am really pleased and proud that I trusted my body to do what it was designed to do, I had a mantra in my head along those lines while I was in the zone! All my fear of giving birth has gone! Thank you for giving me the confidence to believe in my body and mind 😀I am amazed that I did it as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to!

I’ll send a photo 😍I’m happy for you to share my story with others if you’d like to, I think it’s amazing with how scared I was to have experienced no pain!

I’m so pleased and proud that hypnobirthing worked so well 😀. I think it’s great to share the success and hope it helps someone else as scared as I was! xx
