Chloe’s words: Started feeling twinges at about 8am but nothing much. By 9.30 I knew it was starting, but still only light. Chris got home from work at about 10am(!), when we started to get things set up the house. After that I would say labour had started to definitely kick in.
Phoned midwife at about 10am to say things had started and we would like to have baby at home(had been undecided with birth centre/homebirth, mainly due to house having some work done to it) and that we would phone back when things got moving.
Chris phoned midwife twice because first midwife still hadn’t arrived by the time I was breathing baby down, so he had to call them again to send both immediately.
Was in the lounge by the fire for about an hour & half, then went up and got in the bath, then she was born in the bath about an hour later!
It all then happened really quickly, but gently at the same time. All manageable. Both midwives arrived with about 10 minutes to spare . Lovely known midwife came out which was wonderful to see a face that I knew.
The labour was just over three hours no tears she popped out like a dream, she did amazingly well, she was slow and gentle but quick at the same time…!! Thank you fir everythung Janet, its amazing, Much love Xxx
Chris’s words: Hi Janet, Chloe started to feel movement at around 8am. I took (toddler) to nursery and came home to lite a fire and darken the living room.
We listened to KG Hypnobirthing music “River Dawn” for a couple of hours until Chloe wanted to get into the bath at about 11. Her “J”/”Down” breathing was brilliant, calm and all was peaceful and quiet. Surges were regular and strong! Midwifes arrived at 12.45 and baby joined us at 12.54!
It all happened so quickly but so easily! Chloe was very calm and made it look simple. She is a Very chilled out little girl! Thank you. It would be lovely if you could pop in, Chloe would love to catch up. X
