My top 5 tips to enhance fertility ❤️ In my ideal world, every woman/couple would be given good quality nutritional advice, as well as mental, physical and emotional support in the pre conception period, well before conception takes place.

One size does not fit all, with ANYTHING! People are individuals with individual needs, not just a set of symptoms or a condition to be treated by the same route. I have always preferred to work with people using a holistic approach ❤️

We live in a world full of toxins and many factors that may play a part in infertility as well. In my world, women/couples would be working on their “fertile soil” so to speak, healthy egg and healthy sperm for at least 3 to 6 months, (of course some use donor sperm and eggs) but many really want things to happen much quicker! Especially when they have been “trying” to get pregnant for ages, I understand that of course, but preparation may be worth it in the long run ❤️

As it isn’t just about getting pregnant, it is about “staying” pregnant. Sadly so many women miscarry each year and it is almost deemed “normal” and many quote the figure as 1:4, but should that be accepted as “normal” ? ❤️

Not getting pregnant can be multifactorial. There are many little things that may help to increase fertility, as there are often many variables. ❤️

Maybe Consider:

1) Coming off the contraceptive pill at least a few months, before preparing to conceive, to release those hormones out of the system. (Ideally 12 months in advance)

2) Avoiding all products that say “fortified with” vitamins, iron etc, usually found in breakfast cereals, as they are usually synthetic ingredients that can interfere with the absorption of the healthy nutrients in your food, defeating the object!

3) Avoid SYNTHETIC supplements!!!!! Most pre natal and pregnancy supplements are SYNTHETIC!!!  They ususally contain “folic acid” a synthetic form of folate. Just Google the difference between folic acid and folate! Synthetic supplements often make women feel nauseous, as a minimum, which often gets put down to “morning sickness”. I can signpost my clients to food grade supplements, where deemed necessary.

Why not test for deficiencies in the first place though!

3) Ideally women and partners would be screened and tested prior to preparing to conceive. In the UK certain vital blood tests are not done routinely on the NHS. Sadly I see women who have had multiple miscarriages in the past, who have been given pretty poor “advice” and virtually zero nutritional support! Most of them have NOT been offered basic crucial blood tests! Some may need to pay private for some of these blood tests though and hair mineral analysis. I can sign post my clients to these if necessary. Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is becoming more popular and can be a very useful screening tool for looking at essential nutritional deficiencies and imbalance which are crucial for health in general including fertility and in pregnancy. 4) Listen to your granny – EAT YOUR GREENS! (Amongst many other foods) Yes, greens are full of natural iron, B12, folate and magnesium, K vitamins, all crucial in health generally but so important when conceiving and growing a healthy baby. As well as good quality proteins. Cut the sugar, caffeine, cigarettes and alcohol, which goes without saying….. oh and fresh air and exercise are great too, as we know! Exercise produces endorphins and happy hormones, which are much better than stress hormones!

5) TRULY RELAX, your mind and your body, at a deeper level. Even though so many are told this, but seriously….. nurture your mind and body, replenish your energies and love yourself. Of course I will always suggest reflexology and hypnosis…..because that’s what I offer….and I have seen the benefits over the years. Or take some meditation or yoga classes.

Stress massively depletes the body of essentials minerals by the minute, which reduces levels of the hormones necessary for a healthy conception and a healthy baby. Many take Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulphate) baths to replenish magnesium levels, crucial in conception and onwards. See my “shop” on my website, if you want to buy in bulk at a much, much cheaper cost! Assuming you are not contraindicated of course. Always do your own research. https://janetnaylor.co.uk/products/  Please do not take this as “medical advice”.

Feel free to book a Consultation with me in confidence, where I can discuss the above and more, in details. I am based in Kendal, South Cumbria but have many virtual clients all over the world via zoom Consultations, (I can’t offer reflexology via zoom though!) ❤️

Why not book an initial consultation with me to see if a more natural route to support your fertility is the path for you ? We can discuss your medical history, nutrition, your emotions, your thoughts and feelings, any test results that you have had so far, and how you can plan to enhance your fertility naturally, with a plan that suits your individual needs, rather than a one size fits all approach. People can “try and try” for months if not years, but if some fundamental areas are not addressed, it may prolong the journey for many.

Happy baby planning! Janet ❤️
